The disorientation of whales is why they get hit by ships

Below are North Atlantic airbursts and whale strandings of humpbacks on America's east coast within timeframes.

Ships hit whales, however, not all whales are in good condition or alive when hit.

300 humpbacks in 21 years. Airbursts from 1995 January 1st to 2015 December 31. 

200 humpbacks in 7 years. Airbursts from 2016 January 1st to 2022 December 31st.
