Glacier retraction and meteor streams

An interesting discovery in my research has been the sporadic retraction of glaciers globally. I will write further about this in the future; however, this is one of the main findings. Europe versus Greenland. In Europe the glaciers are under a condition of rapid retreat whereas in Greenland they are growing or stable. Why? The answer seems to be in meteoroid streams and the scattering of iron and other elements into the atmosphere. Europe since 1850 has been a very active region for meteor activity whereas in Greenland it seems to be rather non-existent and still is. This stream or activity is steadily moving westward. The darker snow gets the more heat it will absorb and this seems to be the case in Europe. There is also a correlation in other parts of the world. Once again meteors are the quiet killer that are not just affecting whales, they are affecting other environmental foundations we rely on. 

Large fireball in English Channel/Celtic Sea

2024 July 18. Celtic Sea and the English Channel. Fireball. The meteor had electrophonic properties. Time: 20:36. Witnessed in le-de-France, Bretagne, England, Normandie, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Pays de la Loire and Wales. This event should be noted as a risk to marine animals. I await further flight duration information before proceeding with a Marine Animal Disturbance alert. The meteor was seen in locations 700km apart. There were more reports of concurrent sound than delayed.

Return of the whales

Whale party off Martha’s Vineyard and southeast of Nantucket after years of airburst activity. Orcas eating tuna, large pods of endangered Sei whales (93), Humpbacks (36), Minki whales, Sperm whales and 21 fin whales, the list goes on.

New data from NASA of the primary dismantling/detonation point. 2024, May 18. Airburst. (41, -8.8). Time: 22:46. e = 3.7, -e=0.13 or equivalent to 130,000 kg/TNT.  Altitude = 74.3km. Velocity = 40.4km/s.

Western Australia Whale Stranding and meteoroid update

Two other notable meteors came into the atmosphere 2 days before the April 26th stranding of the Black Dolphins. With the large one on the 15th (see posts below), these three events combined are a VLF Radio wave storm for whales.

2024, April 24. Western Australia. Time: 14:00UTC. Meteor. Velocity: 68km/s. Duration: 1.53 seconds. Location: S.W. of Albany in the Southern Ocean. Traveling W.N.W.

2024, April 10. The Netherlands. Fireball. Also seen in France, Belgium and Germany. Around 19:57 UT, or 21:56 CEST local time. Sonic boom heard; concurrent and delayed, meaning it could have produced VLF radio waves making this an electrophonic meteor. Travelled N.W. over the coast and exploded over the North Sea. Meteor Airburst in North Atlantic

2024, April 9. North Atlantic. Airburst. Location (36.5, -37.8). Time: 04:47. e=3.3, -e=0.11. Equivalent energy of 110,000 kilograms of TNT. Altitude: 36.3 km. 700km W.S.W of the Azores.

UPDATE: Earth Skimming Fireball was asteroid in Spain, and China Airburst on March 17

2024, March 30. Spain/Mediterranean. Earth Skimming Fireball. Time: 22h59m TUC (23h59 CET). Flew over Catalonia, across the Balearic Sea and the Balearic Islands. It was caught on camera for well over 35 seconds.

2024, March 17. China, Zhongchangyuan, Zixi County, Fuzhou, Jiangxi. Airburst. Location (27.6, 117). Altitude: 42.1 km. Velocity: 25.6 km/s. e = 3.7 and -e = 0.13. Equivalent to 130,000 kg of TNT.

Another Florida Fireball

2024, March 16. USA, Caicos Islands, Florida and New Providence. Fireball. Time: 00:26 UT. It was seen as far away as the Turks and Caicos Islands over 1000km away. This one was fully over the ocean travelling S.E. approximately 40 km off the coast. It created a sonic boom that was heard in coastline communities. This event could produce marine animal disturbance.

Tasman Sea Meteor and Update of a previous event

2024, March 13. Tasman Sea. Meteor. (-41.98, 166.00). Time: 14:02 (UTC). Duration: 3.93 seconds. Because of its distance from New Zealand, locality and time of year; this event could produce marine animal disturbance. See map below.

Update: Approximately 7 hours before the event above a large fireball was seen travelling N.W. across the central South Island of New Zealand travelling towards the Tasman Sea. The green meteor lit up the sky for 5.5 seconds and was first detected at a height of 90 km. It descended at approximately 45 degrees and dismantled and disappeared at 25 kilometres. It produced a sonic boom and was travelling in the same direction as the one that would follow. Meteorite has been recovered.

13 dolphins attempt stranding in Channel Islands

2024, March 12. UK, Channel Islands, Jersey, La Rocque beach. 13 dolphins rescued during shallow water attempt to strand. They have been observed in the last two weeks in a delicate state.

Heavy meteor activity this month in the English Channel. One meteor in the North English Channel/ North Sea was seen as far away as central Germany.

Are Meteors playing a part in the bizarre fish behavior in Florida?

What is happening to the fish in Florida? Something, whether poison or some other disaster is making the fish turn very weird. They are exhibiting bizarre behaviour. Spinning around and stranding is far from normal. This could be due to disease or an algae-produced dementia. One reason that shouldn't be discounted is a meteor disturbance, whether a low-impact strike on the water causing concussion or an airburst that has produced VLF radio waves. The water in the region is shallow and has a delicate ecosystem. For a full explanation of the previous reasons please read my January 7 paper on Meteoroids and Whale Strandings.

North Atlantic Whale Deaths: Airbursts since 2016, a mirror image to the North Pacific

Since 2016 there have been 31 airbursts detected by NASA in the North Atlantic. It is a mirror image of the North Pacific that has seen a rise in Humpback whale deaths and an upward trajectory of airbursts and meteor activity in general.

A Dead Dolphin in the USA and a Mass Fish Kill in New Zealand.

Two incidents to write about. The first is a dolphin stranded in New Jersey in the USA. It washed up with blood coming from its eyes and jaw. I've placed a map up of where a meteor came in over the water. The upper N.E USA has seen some spectacular activity lately with one meteoroid seen in over 15 states on the 21st. It's worth considering at least.

The second incident is in the Hauraki Gulf in New Zealand. A mass fish kill has been blamed on a fishing trawler mishap, however here also the meteoroid activity has been very active. I thought there could be a stranding in this area, a follow-up from a meteor push, after the last prevented stranding below on February 12 of 35 to 40 false killer whales. The cross at the bottom is where numerous strandings have occurred since last October. It could just be a coincidence, but worth keeping a watch for any information in the future. See the February 12th post.

Dead Herring Whale in Gulf of Barcelona.

Venezuela, Gulf of Barcelona, Anzoategui. A dead Herring whale was reported dead on February 18. The map below shows bolides detected by NASA on the 17 and 22 of January. The yellow cross is approximately where a Herring Whale was located floating on the surface. It was in an advanced case of decomposition.

Doomed to Extinction, deaths of marine species rising around the world.

In Bangladesh 3 dolphins, 1 porpoise and 1 turtle were found dead in three days. Two more dolphins were found dead on Inani sea beach of Cox’s Bazar on Friday. One of them is a Irrawaddy dolphin and another is Indo Pacific Humpback. Scientists are at a loss to explain these deaths?

Meteor over Mediterranean Sea.

A bright meteoroid entry was tracked on February 16 off the Spanish coast. The meteor illuminated the sky as it burned up in a large fireball above the Balearic Sea/Alboran Sea. This was over an area between the coast and the Illes Balears that includes Ibiza.

Mass Whale Strandings in New Zealand with NASA Bolides

The NASA Bolides and the mass whale strandings so far in New Zealand this year. The four yellow crosses indicate the strandings, including the near disaster that locals prevented on February12. 

2024, January 8. New Zealand, Between South and North Island. High Altitude Meteor. Time 15:17. Traveling east to west at 100 km travelling prograde at 57km/s.

2024, January 9 and 10. New Zealand. Two Gray’s beaked whales were stranded on two separate beaches near South Taranaki on Tuesday and Wednesday. The whales were already dead when located on Waipipi coastline and were between 3.5 and 4m in length. This came between 24 and 48 hours after the above meteor event.

2024, January 21. New Zealand, North Island-East Coast, Hawke's Bay, reef near Māhia, Tairāwhiti beach, Taylor’s Beach. 40 false killer whales and bottlenose dolphins were euthanized. The pod first stranded early in the afternoon but refloated with the high tide at about 3pm. They restranded at a remote and inaccessible reef point further south of Taylor’s Beach.

2024, January 21. New Zealand, North Island. Time 9:12pm. The fireball was seen in Auckland, Waikato, Gisborne, Waipawa and Hawke’s Bay, the same day 40 false killer whales were stranded in the area. A loud sonic boom was heard as it flew overhead, travelling from N.W. to S.E. It was described as a low travelling large ball of fire.

2024. January 29 - 30. New Zealand, Baylys Beach, West coast North Island. 3 Black Dolphins. The first one washed up from a pod offshore of approx. 10 - 12 individuals. The second was 2km further up the beach and was 3m long. The third washed up the next day. Baylys Beach is a small section of Ripiro Beach, which is the longest west coast beach in New Zealand. 2024, February. New Zealand. Heavy meteoroid shower activity.

2024, February 12. New Zealand, East coast, North Island, East Cape beach of Taylor's Bay. A pod of 35-40 false killer whales and bottlenose dolphins have been refloated and driven back to sea in a strong and coordinated effort by locals after stranding in the afternoon.

Iota Centauri, Centauri, is a star in the southern constellation of Centaurus. Large outburst. This combined with the Alpha centaurids has created problems for marine species around New Zealand. Tasmania, Western Australia and South Australia should be on watch for whale strandings.

The Iota Centaurid meteor shower, designated as IAU shower no. 919, exhibited unusually strong activity during the period from January 21 to 26, 2024. This shower corresponds to solar longitudes between 301.0 and 306.0 degrees (equinox J2000.0). Here are some details about this fascinating celestial event:

Triangulated Meteors:

CAMS New Zealand detected 48 iota Centaurids under the coordination of J. Baggaley (University of Canterbury) and J. Scott (University of Otago).

CAMS Australia observed 34 shower meteors via H. Devillepoix (Curtin University) and D. Rollinson.

CAMS Chile recorded 16 shower meteors with contributions from S. Heathcote and T. Abbott (NOIRLAB/Cerro Tololo) and E. Jehin (University of Liege).

Whale Stranding watch for Tasmania.

After looking at historical data and what is happening in New Zealand, probably, King Island, Flinders Island and the east coast of Tasmania could see a mass stranding of cetaceans. This is due to the heavy meteoroid activity in New Zealand. Even though I am unable to back up this with current hard data, historically Tasmania has seen strandings in the above locations when New Zealand has an incident on the northeast coastline.
