Mass dolphin stranding in Somalia.

2025, January 23. Somalia, Puntland, between Bosaso and Mareero towns. A mass stranding of 140 dolphins, some of them dead, while others on the verge of dying. A rare case for the region. I've narrowed the investigation solely due to the airburst below. After this meteor airburst, a humpback was also stranded. They look like long-finned black dolphins or pilot whales; or homboboro in the local language.

The region is very active this year.
Rainfall during the dry season in Northern Australia and Typhoons in Central Asia is all related to increased meteor activity. Mass whale strandings in the Philippines, Thailand and dozens of other deaths including ones in Taiwan, China, Indonesia and other localities. On May 22. Passenger Flight SQ321 experienced what's been classed as "severe turbulence" while it was over southern Myanmar. This discovery was first published on the Facebook social media account of a resident named Hans Faam.

Airburst in the Timor Sea and migration routes of cachalots (sperm whales). This is more of a curious observation than fact-based science on my behalf. If I found further reports of whales along these routes after the airburst, I would be happier to call this connected. This was a low atmospheric airburst having mid-range energy with a detonation yield of 150,000 kg/TNT.
