Pilot whale stranding in New Zealand

2014, December 2. New Zealand, Golden Bay, Cook Strait. There are 37 long-finned pilot whales stranded at one location. 13 whales have died and 24 remain alive as of 20241203 at 06:30.

It could be linked to a previous event: 2024, November 24. New Zealand, Ruakākā Beach in Northland. Approximately 40 Black Dolphins (Pilot whales) were stranded with the resulting deaths of 4 individuals, two adults, a sub-adult and a calf.
